For over three decades, Mike Chiavaro has wielded both electric and upright bass, carving a musical journey rooted in versatility. A graduate of the esteemed Eastman School of Music with a degree in Jazz and Contemporary Media, Mike stands as a testament to the fusion of academic excellence and real-world musicality.
His career boasts significant collaborations with industry icons like Richard Marx, Eric Krasno, Derek Trucks, John Patitucci, and Kasim Sulton. As a sought-after session musician, Mike's talents have been tapped by eminent producers such as Phil Ramone, Jack Douglas, Jay Messina, Kevin Killen, Bryce Goggin, and John Hill.
Currently, he plays a pivotal role in various bands, including the soulful collaboration with Eric Krasno and Otis McDonald in King Canyon, the dynamic Magnetic Peaks, and Jack Dishel's Only Son.
The pages of Bass Magazine have featured Mike twice, showcasing his playing in articles like "Mike Chiavaro: Pocket Prospector" and "World Premiere: “Put It Down” by Otis McDonald, John Patitucci, and Mike Chiavaro".
Beyond the stage and studio, Mike is the co-founder of TrackTribe, a production company that has left an indelible sonic mark on projects ranging from The Tonight Show and Google to the John Travolta / Bruce Willis movie, “Paradise City”.
